Adams Power has been in the Elkhorn, WI areas since 1988. We specialize in custom design solutions for homes and businesses in the areas of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, solar solutions, home backup systems and more!
This is an on-site position at our office in Elkhorn, WI. This is not a hybrid or full remote role. The schedule for this role is typically Monday - Friday, with some flexibility to work early or late, depending on the workload. The pay for this role is based on years of relevant experience.

We are searching for our next Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Your essential responsibilities will include:
• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flow and profit and loss statements.
• Maintain the general ledger by reconciling accounts to ensure accurateness and completeness
• Maintain the monthly close checklist and closes the monthly books.
• Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
• Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
• Manage the purchasing and invoicing system.
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual documents to ensure compliance with banking covenants.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Certification Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
At least three (3) years of related experience is required. Preferred Accounting experience in the Construction industry.
