Description:

Working on high powered laser products and related machinery.

Key responsibilities related to this position are as follows:

• Define and understand system level requirements by interacting with the engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams

• Translate these into code level requirements and maintain all related project documentation

• Maintenance and modification of existing software interface applications

• Develop and maintain all design documentation, including proper revision control of all generated software through generation of engineering change orders

• Develop and implement test plans for validating/unit testing code and define design iterations with other levels of engineering to assure high level requirements are met

• Develop, implement, and support user interface tools (GUI) per customer requirements

• Develop user documentation for system electronics as it relates to the software interface

• Develop interface tools for implementation of new electronics in the lab or on the manufacturing floor. Train engineering, manufacturing and applications teams to use of all developed software

• Provide technical support to field engineers to facilitate system debugging at customer site as needed

Skills:

C , gui development, labview, python, linux

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High level of competency with C/C , Python, and Labview.

• Able to design and use test script language such as Python to debug and test

• Experience working in Linux environments

• Experience working with SQL databases.

• Familiar with real time operating systems concepts

• Experience with protocols and device programming: I2C, UART, SPI, SDcard, Ethernet, RS232/RS485

• Understand electrical schematics, component function and board layout

• Experience with MATLAB is a plus

• Experience with Altium is a plus

• Experience with Six Sigma & Lean Principles a plus

• Good verbal and written communication skills

Experience Level:

Minimum of 4 years professional experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
