Description:

• Strong knowledge of quality control techniques similar to automotive practices TS 16949, Good problem-solving skills, ability to effect change, good problem solving skills.
• Understanding of large-scale construction projects and how to work with construction and project managers.
• Work with suppliers (current and future) and/or construction and project managers to ensure product quality requirements are met from NPI through production and installation.
• Provide quick attention to emerging field issues to assist in containing them at the project site and also at suppliers facilities.
• The Field Quality Engineer will help to validate containment and root cause for quality issues and verify the resulting fixes are effective to ensure corrective and/or prevention of the problem. This individual will report back to HQ a minimum of weekly with escalation on daily basis of critical concerns that may need immediate action.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

5 years of Experience in Quality control for steel manufacturing or QC oil and gas background with steel. steel quality control. Possibly look into STEEL Construction Managers. Wants steel knowledge.

• ability to put information into a PPT, or Excel.
• Detail oriented and willing to dig to help identify the nature of field and/or factory issues.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanicals Engineering preferred) or Trade or Technical School (Certificate or diploma)
• Ability to travel, sometimes with minimal advanced notice.
• Experience in manufacturing floor techniques to control quality from IQC, to process control plans to Outgoing inspection procedures.
• Ability to calculate process capability (Cpk) for critical attributes.
• Good understanding of minimum quality requirements at a factory to ensure low-to-no defects flow out of factory.
• Someone with Quality control Strong verbal and written communication skills
