Actalent is Hiring an Electrical Technician Near Cleveland, OH

Description:

Actalent is seeking an electrical engineering technician to support a contractor at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC). This position is full time onsite, starting first shift (7:30-3:30pm).

• Upgrade and replacement of PLC controls and distributed control systems. (will not be programming PLCs or manipulating them, only reading them to change out/troubleshoot)

• Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors.

• Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.

• Install, replace and repair electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.

• Join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.

• Test completion of circuits using test equipment.

• Evaluate and test, using measuring and diagnostic devices to adjust, test, and repair equipment.

• Give advice on the installation, operation, and maintenance of complex equipment.

• Operate equipment in the Central process Systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Journeyman certification or equivalent with 5 - 7 years of industrial electrical field experience

• Associates Degree in Electronics/Electrical Discipline with 3-5 years of experience

• BS Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology with 1-3 years of experience

• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications

to plan wiring layouts.

• Industrial PLC Experience (will not be programming PLCs or manipulating them, only reading them to change out/troubleshoot)

• Must be able to troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove

and replace faulty parts.

• Refiguration (R134) certification / experience; Stationary Engineer experience

• Good interpersonal skills for daily interaction with customers and fellow employees.

• Understanding of pressure, temperature and other operating conditions and ability to service pumps in a plant environment.

• Able to use Microsoft Word, and Outlook to communicate within the company including skills to navigate web-based service literature and programs is a plus.
