Position Overview:
Charter Steel, part of Charter Manufacturing, is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team on the NIGHT SHIFT. If you are a skilled professional with a background in industrial electrical work, including PLC and AC/DC experience, and are looking to contribute to a safety-focused and team-oriented company with over 86 years of growth, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities:
- Perform regular and preventative maintenance on electromechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex problems related to electromechanical machinery and systems.
- Analyze test results and machine error messages to diagnose and repair issues.
- Collaborate with production, industrial maintenance, and cross-functional teams to ensure equipment reliability, service, safety, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three plus years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electronics, AC/DC theory, power transmission, VFD’s, PLC’s, ladder logic, relay logic, and more.
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial equipment using schematic diagrams and manuals.
- Commitment to safe working behaviors including lockout, fall protection, confined space, and mobile equipment operation.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship, Journeyman Certification, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in the steel industry.
- Welding and light fabrication experience.

6. Do you have any plumbing experience? (pvc, black pipe, copper)
7. Are you familiar with PLC’s? Can you troubleshoot, edit, and program?
8. Are you familiar with Ladder Logic?
9. Have you used hot metal detectors, loop scanners, proximity switches, and encoders?
10. Are you familiar with the NEC (National Electric Code)?
11. Can you run, bend, form conduit, and install dead ends?
12. Do you have experience with heavy electrical motors up to 250 hp?
13. What kind of voltages do you have experience working with?
