Job Description
Job Title: Administrative Secretary II-Human Resources
Contract Length: 260 days
Starting Salary Range: $32,557 - $50,723
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Job Summary
Position performs a variety of functions to include, but not limited to data entry, setting up interviews, responding to inquiries, answering telephones, greeting visitors, scanning personnel paperwork, maintaining personnel records, providing front desk coverage, conducting fingerprinting of new employees, submitting information for background checks and reporting unsatisfactory results to the HR, and issuing ID badges. Financial functions include data entry, research into past financial documents, printing or copying financial documents for Finance or other departments, submitting inquiries to the Virginia Depart of Education and vendors, calculating expense totals and preparing simple financial reports.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency. Some college coursework preferred. Must possess knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and clerical techniques. Must possess a demonstrated record of success in dealing with the public in a front office position. Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to speak clearly to communicate with visitors, applicants, administrators and employees. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Must possess knowledge of, or the ability to accurately and quickly learn to operate multi-line telephone console, computer and office equipment.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds; and to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead.
