Access Laser Company is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to work as part of a small, dedicated engineering team to design prototypes and products for application-specific RF and analog circuits and systems for molecular CO2 laser products.

Primary Duties:

• Design, simulate and model RF/analog/mixed-mode circuits and systems
• Proof of Concept (POC) Designs -- involves requirements definition, circuit simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, testing in the lab, troubleshooting, optimization as needed, and documentation.
• Product Development -- in addition to POC steps involves conducting relevant DFx (DFM, DFA, etc.) iterations including design for compliance, rigorous scientific verification and validation, accelerated lifetime tests, and documentations.
• Drive new product requirements and milestones from high-level descriptions and under ambiguous settings
• Drive concepts, preliminary, and critical design reviews
• Write test reports & procedures for prototype, first article, V&V, DFx, etc.

Secondary Duties:

• Support production by designing test fixtures, test-automation, and writing test procedures.
• Mentor less experienced team members

What you bring:

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 7 years of experience.
• Ability to work under general direction to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions. Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Accomplished tasks are only reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
• Solid grasp and practical application of technical principles in the field, with a focus on circuit theory, RF concepts, RF power amplifier design (mid-range, 100-500W), and expertise in power-oscillator and switching power supply. Extremely strong skills in designing and testing for EMC or similar regulatory requirements
• Extensive experience with EDA tools for PCB layout (e.g. Altium)
• Experience with RF simulation software (e.g. ADS, AWR)
• Excellent competency with lab test equipment including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Experience using Product Lifecycle Management Tools (e.g. Agile)

• Excellent interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Highly Desirable Additional Skills/Experience:

• In-depth understanding of physical phenomena involved in high-power and high-frequency circuit design
• Experience with Microwave engineering concepts (Distributed circuits, transmission lines, etc.)

• Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

• Promote scientific rigor and individual skills advancement within the company’s technical team.
