Jasper Drugs is one of a group of family-owned retail pharmacies located in Jasper, TN. It's the epitome of a small-town pharmacy with all of the charm and personalized service that has become increasingly difficult to find. We're currently looking for a pharmacy technician. As our patients are our number one priority, we need people who will take their care as seriously as we do. We're looking for someone who has pharmacy technician experience; certification is preferred.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The store is open 8:00am to 6:00pm CST, and technicians work 8-hour shifts within those times. The schedule is Monday to Friday plus rotating Saturdays. The hours on Saturdays are 8:00am to 1:00pm CST. The starting pay is $15 - $17 depending on certification and experience.

As Jasper Drugs is a small pharmacy, interviews are being held at another location under the same ownership: Access Family Pharmacy in Chattanooga, TN. Please note that while interviews are being held at Access Pharmacy, the position open for hiring is at Jasper Drugs.

Job duties:

• Provide excellent customer service by answering phone calls from patients, patients families, and long term care facility nurses and staff
• Read, interpret, and process physician's medication orders and ensure all information is complete and accurate
• Preparing new prescription and refill requests for patients
• Aid in filling, processing, and dispensing medications
• Sort, stock, re-package and label medications
• Process insurance claims, cycle billing, and resolve billing issues when they arise
• Adhere to safety practices in order to ensure quality care for patients
• Help monitor and maintain the drug inventory through inventory control practices
• Prioritize requests and tasks
• Check for expiration dates on medications on a regular basis
• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned
• Be able to listen and understand customers while maintaining composure when dealing with upset or angry customers
