Overview

We are currently looking for a Vice President, Media to join our energetic, passionate, and talented media relations team. We are looking for hourly or part-time candidates with expertise in consumer or technology media relations, who has a track record of securing placements for clients. This position can work remotely in New York or California. About the Job

• Write media strategies to achieve clients’ business goals
• Oversee media activities including earned placements, special events, media events, media relations activities, desk-side briefings
• Ability to spot media trends and insights and share with the team in order to mobilize, develop, and motivate
• Be proactive and facilitate teamwork within account team; coordinate team resources and create opportunities for junior staff to take on more responsibility; fully utilize agency resources to create the "best teams" for your client
• Serve as senior contact for clients, with an in-depth knowledge of clients’ business, develop strategy for implementing successful client programs
• Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address client needs
• Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others
• Help drive strategic and creative planning process for accounts
• Motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback; encourage teams to take advantage of training and development opportunities
• Help account team(s) work effectively and in the best interests of client(s); maximize agency’s network of resources to enhance client services
• Be proficient in writing and editing materials, including communications programs, client correspondences and report
• Take a leadership role in business development and presentations; work with account teams to build incremental business

Salary Range: Up to $130/hr

*Salary offered will be based on years of experience 

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree in a communications field desirable.
• At least 8 years of agency and/or consumer public relations experience, as well as account responsibility for large, multi-discipline client relationships.
• Broad-based exposure to all skill areas, including creative and strategic planning, writing and presentations, media relations, and consultative selling.
