Head of School- AIE Lafayette
The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) is the leading specialist educator for game development, 3D animation and VFX. Established in 1996 as a non-profit organization to grow the creative digital sector, AIE pioneered specialist education in these fields throughout our campuses in the United States and Australia.
AIE Lafayette is located in Cajundome Blvd #211, operated by a professional, supportive, and highly skilled team.
We are currently seeking an experienced Head of School to join our team at the Lafayette Campus.
This is a full-time permanent position. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and growth of the Lafayette campus
- Maintain accreditation for the Lafayette campus
- Ensure all aspects of compliance for the Lafayette campus
- Oversee the recruitment, management and development needs of staff, including local department staff in concert with department managers
- Develop effective relationships with stakeholders including schools, industry, associations, and government
- Organize industry presentations/talks for students and prospective students
- Organize career programs, master classes, workshops, introductory courses, and summer camps
- Organize and maintain partnerships with local schools to provide educational pathways to AIE
- Facilitate the regular submission of student work to relevant competitions
- Ensure high quality curriculum delivery and minimal student withdrawal.
- Coordinate staff, and utilize professional networks, to maximise student placement
- To assist creating, maintaining, and improving policies and procedures where required
- To promote the Lafayette campus as a center of excellence
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Highly experienced in higher education management and leadership
- Experience in vocational/occupational education training
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and cooperatively as part of a small team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Initiative and ability to learn
- Commitment to quality assurance
Desirable:
- Minumum 5 years experience as an educator
- Experience with Student Information Systems
- Experience with COE and state regulatory obligations and requirements
- Knowledge in video games development, animation, film and/or visual effects
