IMMEDIATE OPENING!
We are hiring for an experienced PAYROLL CLERK to join our team at one of our clients. This is a long term position offering weekly electronic pay, sick leave accrual, retirement savings plan, etc. We are hiring quickly for this position and look forward to seeing your info!
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00/hr DOE
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm in-office
Job Description:
The payroll administrator is responsible for all payroll processes, related benefit and tax account reconciliation, and reporting. The payroll administrator's duties include the management of employee data, ensuring the accuracy of time-sheets, computing wages, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.
Responsibilities:
  • Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
  • Managing electronic timekeeping systems and HRIS data input and reporting.
  • Administer various payroll changes, including deductions, garnishments, and 401K contributions, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Foster clear and open communication with employees regarding payroll matters, providing exceptional service and addressing inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Preparing and issuing earnings statements.
  • Submitting reports to State and Federal agencies for wage reporting and taxes.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee data and timely processing of employee status changes.
  • Act as a backup resource for the accounting department, assisting with additional tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a payroll function
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs (Criterion experience is highly desirable).
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.
