Abernethy Contracting is Hiring an Accounts Payable Team Member Near Charlotte, NC
Abernethy Contracting is seeking an Accounts Payable Team Member to join their Finance Department. This role will work closely with the Controller and CFO and will require a basic working knowledge of the company’s operations to best support all areas of the business. In this high-volume area the ideal candidate will, at a minimum, possess the ability to:
- Receive, verify, organize and process invoices.
- Apply basic GL coding.
- Process payments to Vendors.
- Maintain accurate record of transactions.
- Maintain accurate record of Vendor information including, but not limited to, ACH, W-9 and Insurance information.
- Manage Vendor relationships.
- Protect the business from overpayment.
- Monitor aging reports and ensure that ERP system matches Vendor records.
Education, Experience and Skillset
- High School Diploma minimum
- 3 years working in an Accounts Payable role
- An understanding of basic bookkeeping is required
- Basic to Intermediate Microsoft Excel
- Experience working in a Construction Accounting environment is a plus
- Organized and Detail Oriented
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Analytical and Problem Solving skills
