As a core member of the HR team in the Electrification Services (ELSE) America Region, you will be in charge of the overall HR contribution and value added to the business. You will partner with the relevant leaders to understand business drivers and the current and long-term strategy, and to identify opportunities for HR to add value to the business.This role will have primary client partnership with ELSE Marketing and Sales, while supporting multiple teams within the Service Operations organization. Specifically, this role will provide HR expertise and guidance in the areas of HR & business strategy, culture change, organization design, leadership coaching, succession/pipeline planning, talent assessment/engagement for the Commercial Leaders and their teams. You will establish credibility as a strategic partner, playing a consultative role to employees, managers, and leaders to manage organizational change and transformation. This role will also be involved in strategic projects impacting the ELSE Americas region. Remote work is available for the selected internal candidate.

Your responsibilities

  • Client Group: This position directly supports Sales and Marketing leaders in the US & their teams, including multiple teams within the Service Operations organization
  • HR Business Partner: Serve as the first point of contact for employees & managers and provide leadership, coaching and support for individual employee needs and HR processes
  • HR Consultation: Providing expertise and guidance in all areas of organization support, including Strategic HR partnership with the Business Leaders and his/her direct reports to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives
  • Commercial HR expertise: This position will directly support sales, including a strong understanding of the people implications of a commercial organization including go-to-market strategies, territory allocation, sales performance measurement & evaluation, and sales incentive plan design and performance
  • HR Metrics: Use data and insights to understand trends, uncover issues, and support decision making
  • HR Project Management: Work with business leaders, managers, and HR to implement impactful talent initiatives and programs
  • Coaching: Provide timely, effective, and direct coaching to client group people leaders, assisting in the development of world class, contemporary leadership skills
  • Engagement: Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive & diverse work environment; act as an employee advocate; help drive various business initiatives
  • Talent Partnership: partner with leaders, managers, and talent partners on workforce planning, hiring, and headcount management. Specific focus on diversity, consistent with ABB's commitments to expand our diversity footprint
  • Employee Relations: Facilitate performance management process; when necessary, conduct investigations, conflict resolution, employee communications and management coaching within client group
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, Business or related field from an accredited university or college required, Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive HR (Human Resource) business partnership experience, with at least 3 years of experience supporting a sales organization preferred
  • Solid knowledge of US employment law
  • Desire to challenge status quo and implement fresh new ways of working
  • A natural problem solver, motivated by achieving goals and working through fast-paced change and challenges
  • Motivated by collaboration and the opportunity to work with others towards a common goal
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and the ability to manage and deliver on multiple priorities
  • Strong strategic consulting, coaching, decision making and influencing skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skill set in Microsoft office applications
  • Proven experience supporting an organization through transformation, including comfort with ambiguity and techniques to support change management preferred
  • Ability or potential to understand the business and think strategically about people, organizational & cultural needs
  • Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and engage at all levels including HR systems and data analytics
  • Proven ability to balance business partnership with employee advocacy
  • Experience providing coaching and feedback to leaders and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
