In this position, you will provide technical support for services in Electrification Services in Charleston, South Carolina delivering superior, professional service, remotely or on-site. As Field Service Technician, will work as a member of a work group to meet assigned objectives. You will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Responsibilities include performing installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment in addition to a primary role of lead breaker repair person at our Test and Evaluation (T and E) Center.

• Provide knowledge of and conduct work activities in compliance with the ABB HSE (Health, Safety and Environment), ABB Way, and Safety Manual & Safety policy at all times
• Maintain knowledge of, and conduct work activities in compliance with all safety policies
• Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability
• Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet, and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis
• Exercise good judgment in controlling costs and expenditures of company funds. Protect the company's capital investments by properly safeguarding and maintaining that equipment for which you are responsible
• Make contributions to the continued development and refinement of Installation and Field Services
• Engineering Standards and Procedures as they apply to designated specialty and to conduct work efforts in accordance thereof
• Strive to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction in all transactions and relationships

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology with minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of Industrial circuit breaker experience
• Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, SquareD, Multilin relays, and Schweitzer Relays). Technical skills in testing of power distribution and delivery to include Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Breakers, Switchgear, Relays and Transformers
• PLC experience is a plus
• Be responsible for hands-on execution of projects including Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design and repair of Power Delivery equipment in respective area, Power Delivery includes transformers, switchgear, OCBs, Circuit Breakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, Relays, Power Management Controls systems and other Power related equipment & controls
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50-70% initially until the new Test center work takes off
• Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driving license
