Job Description

• Nurse Practitioners shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently
• All candidates must have a current unencumbered license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• All candidates must be Citizen of the United States.
• All candidates must be currently certified in VHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalency and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications from the American Heart Association
• Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, certified in the family practice and is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certifications and have a minimum of 5 years of experience within the last five years.
• All persons are compared against and are not listed on the OIG excluded parties list.
• They perform physical exams, diagnose, and treat diseases and other health conditions and prescribe medication.

Scope of care

Candidates shall be responsible for providing Family Practice and interventional Family Practice consultative services for: assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting;
