Abacus Technology is seeking an Audio/Visual Technician to support the multimedia team on the COMIT program at Johnson Space Center. This is full-time position.
Set up and operate audio and video equipment including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards, and related electronic equipment for meetings and conventions, presentations, and news conferences. Set up and operate associated custom lighting systems. Provide audio and visual operational support to conference rooms, auditoriums and onsite temporary locations. Provide technical support in set-up of screens, projectors, PA systems, platforms, staging and other stage props as needed. Provide support in stage management and backstage operations. Provide support in video teleconferencing, teleconferencing and live television productions interfacing visual and audio media. Operate Cisco WebEx and Microsoft Teams conferencing software.
1 years experience in audio/visual operations. Associate’s degree in a related field. Additional work experience or training may be substituted for degree requirements. Working knowledge and/or experience of audio control boards (6 to 36 channel) and speakers in the set-up, configuration and operation of said equipment. Experience with visual projectors, screens and monitors in set-up, configuration and operation. Experience in set-up and tear-down of Wenger sectional platforms, railing and steps. Proficient with Cisco WebEx and Microsoft Teams software. Must be able to hear 0 to 20 dB in all frequencies or corrective to 20 dB. Must have sight of 20/20 or corrective to 20/20 sight. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and push tour gear cabinets and staging up to 100 pounds. Must be able to stand at least 2 to 3 hours at a time. Must have a current and valid driver’s license. Must be a US citizen.
