Abacus Technologies is Hiring a Business Intelligence Developer I Near Hoover, AL

The Business Intelligence team at Abacus Technologies exists to bring visibility and action to all aspects of business data. As the Business Intelligence Developer, you will work with the Business Intelligence Architects to build and maintain platforms that enable our mission. The primary ways you will accomplish this are to develop the front end and back end systems for data display and automation. The Business Intelligence Developer I position is an entry level position ideal for someone who has a passion for providing scalable code, enjoys working within a cross-functional team and is driven by solving complex problems. If you are a critical thinker, have strong technical and communication skills, determined to succeed, and thrive working in a fast-paced environment with a highly collaborative team, then we want to speak to you!

Scope of Role:

  • Write well designed, testable, and efficient code by using best practice software development principles.
  • Develop and maintain automation applications.
  • Convert legacy code bases to current standards.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Stay current with developer trends and tools.
  • Work with the development team to deliver Magnify platform features.
  • Develop version-controlled branches to test feature updates.
  • Design all applications with the best user experience in mind.
  • Work with analysts to display reports.
  • Diagnose and fix bugs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Up to 2 years of work experience involving software or web development and complex problem solving.
  • Four-year degree or bootcamp certificate in development.
  • Superb communication skills with the ability to understand complex issues and how individual tasks work towards a solution.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment with quick pivots.
  • Problem solving and the ability to be coached and directed by other teammates.
  • Eager to continue education.
  • Organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Git.
  • Proficient with at least two of the following: Java Script, Python, SQL, RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Streamlit is a plus.
