Aaron School is a private special education school that provides integrated academic, enrichment, and therapeutic services with the goal of enabling each student to become a confident and successful learner. Aaron School is seeking an Occupational Therapist at its 30th Street location for the 2024-2025 school year to work with students in grades 8 to 12 with learning differences. Offering an academically rigorous curriculum aligned with the New York State Learning Standards, Aaron employs an individualized approach to ensure student achievement.
Salary range $60,000-$67,000 (10-month position)
RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Facilitate OT services (individual and/or small group) within the context of the classroom environment
- Co-facilitate an ADVANCE class(es) where the primary focus is on executive functioning and organizational skills
- Co-facilitate courses in Transition/Guidance department related to real-world skill practice, ADL’s
- Collaborate regularly with faculty about physical/motor and/or sensory needs of the students
- Develop and implement necessary interventions and strategies to address student OT goals and objectives
QUALIFICATIONS | WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- A valid NY Occupational Therapist professional license
- Registered and licensed
- Any type of teaching experience is a plus
- Work with students having diverse special needs is a plus
