Salary Range: $30.69 - $35.65 Hourly

Program Lead, Senior Wellness

Program Lead is responsible for the following:

  • Coordination and implementation of Santa Clara County Senior Nutrition Program operated at AACI’s Senior Wellness Program.
  • Oversee Volunteer Program including recruitment, coordination, and assignment.
  • Coordination and implementation of all onsite programs and activities for older adults ages 50 .

The Program Lead, under direction of a Program Manager, supervises staff and volunteers; coordinates daily activities; conducts community outreach and provides front line leadership within a limited program in the Wellness Services Department. The Program Lead is responsible for coordination and supervision of activities to maintain compliance with administrative and fiscal requirements of program specific contracts and grants.

Duties and responsibilities

Program Administration and Supervision

  • Coordinate the implementation of Santa Clara County Senior Nutrition Program at AACI with the following: adherence to Santa Clara County regulations and procedures for safe food handling; help maintain kitchen and dining area’s cleanliness; assist with food preparation/service; and organize/maintain necessary program supplies.
  • Oversees contract fulfillment and monitors progress on contract deliverables.
  • Ensures the execution of contract agreements and MOUs.
  • Maintains timely completion and submission of all reports as required.
  • Oversees collecting and maintaining program data, satisfaction surveys and information required for reporting and evaluating purposes including data entry into databases.
  • Monitors program budgets and assists in budget development.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations including opening and closing procedures of the Senior Wellness Program areas.
  • Maintains robust knowledge of program and community needs. Monitors and reports on environmental trends to recommendations and serve as a technical resource for planning program direction.
  • Recommends and assists in the implementation of programmatic goals and objectives.
  • Participates in agency management and staff meetings.
  • Develops and evaluates program activities, with guidance from the Program Manager, to achieve required goals, objectives, and timelines.
  • Supervises and provides performance feedback to program staff on a regular basis.
  • Provides guidance and support to staff including training for of staff development.

Community Outreach and Collaboration

  • Develops and implements marketing and outreach strategy providing guidance in the design, content and distribution of key marketing assets including Website, Program Brochure, and social media.
  • Represents agency and program at community outreach events.
  • Maintains positive working partnerships with peers and agency staff.
  • Maintains relationships and communication with program participants.
  • Maintains and/or develops productive relationships and communication with relevant government and community partners.
  • Completes other duties and related projects as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Ability to perform the duties described above.
  • A Bachelor level Degree in Health Science, Public Health, Child Development, Recreation, Psychology, Social Work or other similarly related field OR five years of responsible program administration experience in the areas of community building, social, health and/or human services.
  • Experience with applicable professional/technical principles and practices including substance use education, health resources, prevention, alcohol, and other drug related issues.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cultural awareness.
  • Minimum 2 years working with older adults ages 50
  • One or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Have a ServSafe Food Safety Management Certification or willing to train and obtain certified within 3 months of hire
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work productively independently and in a team.
  • A valid California driver license, current personal auto insurance, and an MVR sufficient to maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies.
  • Written and verbal fluency in Chinese or Vietnamese preferred.
