Job Summary: The Software Business Analyst will utilize their petroleum engineering and industry experience to create product requirements, conduct user interviews and translate them into user workflows, customer journeys, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. The Analyst will also work closely with product operations and product development to deliver high quality, user friendly solutions to solve customer workflow problems. Duties and Responsibilities: Gather, document, and analyze business needs and requirements with respect to petroleum engineering related data products and workflows. Identify customer pain points, goals, and product expectations to design product experience improvements. Understand TGS strengths and weaknesses relative to competitors and guide development and marketing to optimally position products in the best market environment. Provide sound and innovative solutions to business problems and design technical solutions Identify opportunities for improvement based on available system functionality and requirements provided Coordinate other Analysts and work with Architects, Development Managers and Leads Identify target user groups and conducting interviews and other forms of inquiry to help understand user needs. Produce low-fidelity user interface design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes. Optimize existing user interface designs Perform other duties as requested or assigned Take responsibility for your own safety, and comply with all instructions given regarding health, safety and the protection of the environment. Ensure the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and report any hazards, accidents or injuries to your immediate supervisor. Job Requirements (Education and Experience): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields is required with strong preference for engineering degrees. 3-5 years of related experience is preferred. Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients. Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
