Title: Jr. IT Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Setup laptops for APV new and existing employee
• Monitor and take backups of cloud data, servers, and systems
• Attend to user requests on system support and laptop hardware and software issues
• Meet SLAs for all the support tasks
• Install and upgrade operating systems and other web applications as needed for various projects
• Support Office 365 user account creation and work as global administrator on the tenant
• Configure/setup/maintain VPN for the users and work with users to troubleshoot and resolve any VPN issues
• Administer Windows and Linux servers on-premises, AWS, and Azure on a daily basis
• Maintain platform support for the server environment with administration, troubleshooting, documentation, security, debugging, and implementation of server hardware, operating systems, and application software.
• Adhere to security policies for the server environment. Research and keep abreast of security updates.
• Develop appropriate documentation supporting the IT infrastructure.
• Update software and hardware inventory to ensure the assets are maintained accurately
• Prepare a system security plan
• Open to work on any assigned tasks based on business needs including maintenance tasks.

Education:

• Degree or diploma in computer science, cyber security, IT, electronics or related field

Skills Requirement:

• 1 year of experience in local area networks, VPN, operating systems, and security layer
• 1 year of experience performing data backup and recovery processes
• 1 year of experience in resolving issues with systems and programs
• Working knowledge of customer support and troubleshooting principles and methods
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer-reported incidents
• Must be able to identify, research, evaluate, and provide feedback to management on problematic trends
• Must assist in the development of policies, procedures, and standards
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems & coordination with other IT teams and service providers
• Will be required to regularly upgrade technical skills
• Ability to set and meet deadlines
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations
• Technical writing skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written/verbal communication skills

Other Essential Experience, Skills, and abilities required:

• Must be local to the DMV area. Need to be able to be on-site at APV Columbia office at least 3 days a week as per the need. In the future, all 5 days may need to be in the office.
• Must be a US citizen.

• Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Ability to apply systematic/systems analysis processes and procedures to troubleshooting diagnostics.
• Advanced diagnostic skills and tools knowledge.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 products.
• Strong teamwork skills
• Proven knowledge of the most current security and web development programming languages

Other Skills/abilities preferred but not required:

• 1 year of experience installing and supporting Microsoft Office 365 tools and technologies.
• 1 year of experience in upgrading hardware and software programs.
• Understanding of cyber security principles and preparation of system security plans
• Microsoft Windows Server Certification
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
