Position Summary: 

The Director of Purchasing will be responsible for the coordination and development of all procurement strategies for the acquisition of materials, finished goods, and supplies and outside services for the benefit of A Duie Pyle, Inc. This position will be the main point of contact and decision maker for corporate purchasing related decisions, as well as engaging with and managing external partners. The Director of Purchasing will report to the CFO and manage a small team of Purchasing Analysts.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing and implementing purchasing and contract management strategies, policies, systems, procedures, guidelines and buying limits
  • Negotiating best purchase price(s), contract and payment terms with vendors
  • Preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
  • Evaluating all purchase orders to ensure that order quantities are the most cost effective possible for material and freight costs
  • Reviewing purchase order contracts for conformance to Company policy
  • Maintaining records of goods ordered and received
  • Reviewing and resolving discrepancies with supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts product non-conformance or quality issues
  • Directing and coordinating activities of personnel engaged in buying, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies
  • Implementing and monitoring internal control systems
  • Participating in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials
  • Analyzing market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
  • Managing, coaching and developing purchasing analysts

To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:

  • 10 years of recognized experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation or a related field; Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong working knowledge of complete procurement cycle with a hands-on work style
  • Possess strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively with senior level leadership
  • Excellent project & program management skills and ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capacity to work independently and as well as with a team
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel
