Overview

• Tier One Technologies has an immediate need for a Senior Kafka Developer for our US Government client located in Alexandria, VA. This will be a 100% remote position.
• SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain complex business, accounting, and management information systems.
• Work with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives.
• Perform modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
• Assist users in the operation of the application.
• Provide guidance to less experienced programmer/analysts.
• Perform all functional duties independently.
• Work on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s).
• Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline is preferred.
• 10 years of experience in software development and/or related field.
• Proficiency working with Kubernetes, Kafka, Docker, Java, Rest API and OpenAPI Specifications.
• Strong knowledge of Azure/AWS Cloud Fundamentals and WebApp Application Security.
• Ability to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program.
• Ability to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
• Extensive experience developing/supporting software applications using more than one of these software technologies: Active Server Pages (ASP), JavaScript, Oracle DBMS, SQL Server DBMS, Visual Basic.
• Extensive experience collaborating with end users to define new software system requirements.
• Prior experience training/instructing end users on the use of software applications.
• Strong knowledge of authoring or contributing to software-related documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, technical manuals, and user manuals.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
• Be able to pass a drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
• Must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card) or hold an H-1B Visa.
• Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
