The Assistant Director of Facilities at 80 Acres is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the organization's facilities. This role ensures that all physical spaces are well-maintained, safe, and operationally efficient to support the diverse programs and activities of 80 Acres. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Logistics Director and other department heads to implement and oversee facility management strategies and initiatives.

Description

Key Responsibilities:
Facility Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all facilities, including offices, classrooms, community spaces, and outdoor areas.
    • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure all equipment and systems are functioning properly.
    • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, maintenance, and renovations.
Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety codes.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
    • Develop and enforce safety protocols and emergency response plans.
Operational Efficiency:
    • Monitor and manage facility-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
    • Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices to reduce environmental impact.
    • Maintain an inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for facility operations.
Team Management:
    • Supervise and support the facilities team, including maintenance technicians and custodial staff.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
    • Schedule and oversee daily tasks, ensuring timely completion of all maintenance and operational activities.
Planning and Coordination:
    • Assist in planning and executing facility-related projects, including new builds, renovations, and relocations.
    • Collaborate with program directors and staff to understand and meet their facility needs.
    • Participate in long-term strategic planning for facility growth and development.
Communication and Reporting:
    • Maintain clear and effective communication with the Logistics Director and other stakeholders regarding facility operations and issues.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on facility status, maintenance activities, and budget utilization.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in using facility management software and tools.
    • Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
    • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff, vendors, and contractors.

Salary

$70,000 - $75,000 per year
