Please refer to the respective collective bargaining agreement for additional information on such wage premiums: Summary:Performs a variety of office administrative functions related to membership verification and eligibility problem resolution for non-member patients. Makes members/patients and their needs a primary focus of ones actions. Develops and sustains productive member/patient relationships. Actively seeks information to understand member/patient circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs. Builds rapport and cooperative relationship with members/patients. Considers how actions or plans will affect members; responds quickly to meet member/patient needs and resolves problems.Essential Responsibilities:Performs a variety of functions related to patient eligibility verification, including verifying insurance coverage with non-Kaiser insurance providers for MVA cases. Verifies CPT coding for accurate billing and reconciliation of accounts.Opens clinic each morning in preparation for patients. Greets patients, provides patient reminder calls, makes appointments, routes calls, takes messages and monitors in-house waitlist. Schedules consultative and return appointments based on referral directives.Receives physical inventory, processes supply orders via Website, process returns and exchanges, and maintains a cash drawer. Utilizes electronic office supply ordering. Creates OneLink expense reports for vendor invoice payment, and accounts payable/receivable. May sell over the counter products.Enters patient charges/benefits via HealthConnect. Completes daily reconciliation report for Patient Registration to track office revenue, process payment via HealthConnect/KP Vault.Reconciles KP Vault, HealthConnect, MAS90, multiple outside vendor accounts, and cash drawer.Creates/maintains paper charts and filing system and electronic chart noting in HealthConnect,Individually handles all aspects of operations for each office along with supporting multiple Doctors for respective areas.Dependent upon assigned area, may register members into various classes, answer all related questions, collects fees, sends out confirmation letters, and ensures all materials are ordered and given to class facilitator.Responsible for development and maintenance of policy and procedure manual of front desk operations.Accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives.Accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers contracted providers and vendors. Basic Qualifications:ExperienceTwo (2) years of heavy telephone and business office work experience, including one year (1) in membership accounting or a customer/patient service department involving credit/collection work, insurance coverage verification or eligibility problem resolution.Six (6) months experience in the operation of a CRT or personal computer required.Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.EducationHigh school graduation or equivalent.License, Certification, RegistrationN/A Additional Requirements:Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work with difficult individuals and situations in a courteous manner, and membership verifications, eligibility problem resolution, and non-member issues.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities and the ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work with difficult individuals and situations in a courteous manner.Effective verbal and written communication skills.
