4D Recovery is Hiring a Development and Communications Assistant Near Portland, OR

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Development and Communication Assistant will support the Development Director with various administrative duties including basic financial record-keeping and outside communications including a monthly newsletter and social media management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Donations ManagementTrack gifts and pledges made from sponsorship, gifts, grants, and other campaigns.

Produce monthly reports of donors and prospects.
Provide and document annual tax acknowledgement letters for all gifts/donations.
Communicate with donors in person, on the phone, and by email as requested by the Development Director.
Process incoming and outgoing mail donations according to organization policies.

  • ReportingDevelop and maintain electronic files of donors, prospects, organizations, and corporations.

Ensure data integrity through accurate data entry and ongoing clean-up efforts.
Assist with the writing and editing of appeals, acknowledgements, donor news, reports, and proposals.
Monitors the grants and contracts execution process and keep documents organized.

  • OutreachCreating and delivering social media posts and communications with current donors, sponsors, and prospects.

Assist in planning and execution of annual gala and other campaigns.
Identifying and engaging with support agencies.
Distributing public relations and prospect materials.
Communication outreach to prospective sponsors, donors, community partners.
Grant prospect research and reporting.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Development Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • This position typically requires at least an Associate’s degree OR two years of relevant field experience.
  • At least one year of experience related to communications and social media management.
  • At least one year of experience related to data entry and other administrative work.
  • Must have reliable transportation or maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residency and have a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes must also have and maintain personal auto liability coverage. All employees driving for work purposes, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle, must complete the agency’s driving approval process before they drive for work.
  • Ability to effectively use most features of Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with networking and marketing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach and conflict resolution skills.
  • Well-developed documentation skills and a strong commitment to quality management; ability to write accurate and concise reports while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Must be dependable, flexible and punctual, and exhibit strong time management skills.
  • Able to clearly articulate information to people of varying cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Able to problem solve and develop creative approaches.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of experience related to marketing and networking.
  • At least 1 year of database management experience.
  • Experience researching grant prospects and reporting.

JOB DETAILS

Pay: $27-29/hr, full-time, overtime exempt

Schedule: Flexible, hybrid position (some work can be completed from home)
