Salary Range: $2,500.00 - $3,500.00 Salary/month

Description

GENERAL INTRODUCTION:

Each position employed with CYO Camps helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:

To coordinate the seasonal food service program at Camp Don Bosco.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:

  1. · Function as general all around cook for all meals and special events.
  2. · Prepare and serve tasteful meals and snacks based on provided menu in sufficient quantity, minimizing waste.
  3. · Supervise seasonal Kitchen Staff and any additional support staff involved in the food service program.
  4. · Receive and store food and cleaning supplies in accordance with local health standards.
  5. · Use appropriate kitchen equipment including electrical and mechanical safely to follow local health standards.
  6. · In seasonal operation, clean and prepare food service areas for use, deep clean and prep kitchen for off-season.
  7. · Ensure Kitchen Staff operate dishwasher while maintaining appropriate temperature and that they log the dishwasher temperatures.
  8. · Monitor cleanliness of dishes, food contact surfaces, and kitchen area.
  9. · Log fridge and freezer temperatures.

Qualifications


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Primary:

a. Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.

b. Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church.

c. A good example for youth in appearance, attitudes, as well as in moral, ethical and spiritual behavior.

Education:

a. HS Diploma or significant qualifying experience.

Experience:

a. Previous experience in staff management.

b. Previous cooking and kitchen management experience

Other Elements:

  1. · Commitment to the mission and values of CYO.
  2. · Strong communication skills, verbal.
  3. · Ability to work under pressure in time constraints.
  4. · Must be able to lift/unload/move food and supplies.
  5. · Current CPR/First aid and Food Handlers required or willingness to obtain prior to camp season.
  6. · Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and live on site in rustic facilities while programs are in session.
  7. · Must be over 18

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
