2nd Order Solutions is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Arlington, VA

Overview: 2nd Order Solutions (2OS), a consulting firm that specializes in applying cutting-edge analytics to the world of consumer lending, is seeking a dynamic HR professional to lead our campus recruiting initiatives, serve as a program manager for our new hire and intern onboarding initiatives, manage our immigration process for our sponsored employees, drive learning and development initiatives, and provide consultative support to our 2OS managers and senior managers. This role requires a high level of integrity, a proactive approach to solving HR-related problems, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for nurturing talent and fostering a positive work culture.

2OS champions a hybrid work model that balances the power of in-person collaboration, connections and learning with the flexibility of working from home. As an HR generalist responsible for specific culture and people initiatives, this position will require at least 3 days per week in the office (Arlington or Richmond). In addition, travel to the other office (Richmond, if based in Arlington or Arlington, if based in Richmond) at least once a month will be required to maintain a strong presence with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Campus Recruiting:

·Oversee/lead full-cycle campus recruiting each fall to attract top-tier talent from our core universities.

·Coordinate campus events, guest speaker opportunities, information sessions and networking opportunities partnering with our school managers to engage with prospective business analysts and data scientists.

Program Management of New Full-time Hires and Interns

·Oversee the onboarding process for new hires and interns, ensuring a seamless transition into 2OS.

·Develop and implement orientation programs, training sessions, and mentorship initiatives to facilitate integration and continued development.

·Serve as a point of contact and resource for interns and new hires, addressing any concerns and providing guidance throughout their tenure.

Immigration Management:

·Manage immigration processes and procedures for international hires, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

·Partner with our legal counsel and external agencies to facilitate visa applications, work permits, and other immigration-related matters.

·Stay informed about changes in immigration policies and guidelines, proactively adjusting processes as needed.

Learning & Development:

·Collaborate with the accountable LT member / L&D committee to identify learning needs and deliver training programs that align with organizational goals and objectives.

·Continue to advance our DE&I agenda by introducing new training and discussions.

·Evaluate the effectiveness of new training through feedback and other performance metrics.

Consultative Support

·Serve as a trusted advisor to 2OS managers and senior managers, offering guidance on HR policies, procedures and best practices.

·Provide coaching and support in areas including performance management, employee relations, and talent development.

Basic Qualifications

·Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

·At least 5 years of experience as an HR specialist or generalist, including at least 2 years of campus recruiting experience.

·Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations and best practices.

·Proficiency in HRIS systems

·Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

·Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a small company environment

Preferred Qualifications

·Specific experience leveraging Lever and/or Paylocity

·At least 8 years of experience as an HR specialist or generalist, including at least 2 years of campus recruiting experience.

·Specific experience supporting learning and development initiatives, immigration, or employee relations.

·Certification in HR (e.g. PHR, SHRM-CP)
