29 Acres is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of adults with ASD. 29 Acres focuses on using ABA principles and programming to make meaningful and measured progress. Each adult’s programming is individualized including set goals and outcomes.

Job Duties:

This position is primarily HR focused with some accounting assistance. Primarily responsible for confidentially handling the payroll functions of the organization by ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations while coordinating all benefits and retirement programs.

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, bonus, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions; contacts appropriate personnel to remedy timesheet errors
  • Payroll processing - receive manager reports, input any extra pay, ensure time off was recorded properly, input miles, input reimbursements, input any corrections
  • Import payroll file into Quickbooks Online Advanced
  • Accounting: Banking and credit card transactions, Prepare Client invoices, Preparing manual checks by printing at 29 Acres, Data entry for bills, Pay bills by credit card
  • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance; enrollment management, changes, Bill review/Remove coverage.
  • 401K retirement plan; changes, enrollment management, compliance, contributions
  • Benefit administration: assign time off types as needed, review negative time off report and send to necessary leadership
  • Update driver’s insurance list
  • Background checks HHS Exclusions, HHSC Exclusions, Employee Misconduct, Eligibility Status, initial and monthly checks; uploading initial into employee profile. Maintaining digital files of subsequent checks
  • Criminal Background check and MVR initial and yearly; uploading initial into employee profile. Maintaining digital files of subsequent checks.
  • RAMP Liaison: addition/Removal of eligible employees. Reimbursement processing. Provide weekly and monthly reports to the COO.
  • Responsible for completing and distribution of the following reports: (Overtime, Time-Off, ACA, W-2s, and birthdays, and other assigned)
  • Filing both physical and digital organization
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Human Resources, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in preferred field
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Can work independently as well as with others, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Paycor payroll processing experience preferred, Quickbooks Online Advanced experience preferred
  • Demonstrate skills in QuickBooks Online products or other similar accounting software
  • Demonstrate skills in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Demonstrate skills in Google and vendor website navigation
  • Pass criminal background check and drug test
  • Hold a valid Texas driver’s license and possess an acceptable driving record
