The Amynta Group is seeking an experienced actuary to join the Advanced Analytics and Actuarial function to enhance and lead the pricing analyses and advanced analytics of our insurance and warranty businesses. The advanced analytics and actuarial group is a dynamic team that is building insurance pricing models, reserving models, underwriting performance management tools and predictive models. In addition, this team works closely with account managers and business leaders to support merger and acquisition due diligence, new business development, insurance carrier relationships and account renewals. The ideal candidates will be quick on their feet, excited to take on ad hoc projects, able to quickly pivot from one project to another and will adhere to actuarial standards of practice. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze warranty and MGA program profitability and present results to business leaders Lead pricing studies for new and renewal customers and programs Support internal financial statement development around loss sensitive elements of the business including statutory, GAAP and purchase GAAP accounting Work with the Acquisitions team to perform actuarial due diligence of potential acquisition targets Work closely with the business intelligence team to build and enhance the Amynta’s data anlaytics capabilities Develop predictive models to enhance and improve client and program pricing Set up and maintain best practices within the advanced analytics and actuarial group as well as with technology team partners Streamline processes and encourage efficiency so that the team can focus its energy on projects that adds value to the Amynta organization Train, mentor and review analyses completed by colleagues KEY REQUIREMENTS 4-7 years of P&C actuarial experience in reserving, pricing and/or predictive modeling Steady progress towards FCAS designation commensurate with years of actuarial work experience. ACAS required. FCAS or near FCAS preferred. Keen attention to detail Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines The ability to self-start, work independently and drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills Advanced Excel user Experienced SQL user able to independently query and manipulate large data sets to develop business-relevant observations and conclusions and to support decision-making Programming skills – R, Python, SAS or other predictive modeling platforms Experience independently building and interpreting results of Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) is preferred although not required A CAREER WITH AMYNTA OFFERS A fun, fast-paced culture An opportunity to grow and develop your career Professional development opportunities A workplace that supports and promotes workplace diversity, equity and inclusion The chance to work with the best in the business!
