Gallagher Evelius & Jones is Hiring a Litigation Paralegal (Medical Malpractice Defense) Near Baltimore, MD

Gallagher Evelius & Jones is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to work within our medical malpractice defense group. 3 – 5 years of experience in a litigation paralegal role is required and Medical Malpractice or Personal Injury experience is strongly preferred.

Typical duties include:

  • Organize case documents, obtain and review medical records, and prepare summaries.
  • Assist in deposition preparation, scheduling, and transcript indexing.
  • Conduct research on expert witnesses, manage subpoenas, and draft pleadings.
  • Perform legal research, compile findings, and maintain case calendars.
  • Draft and send assorted pleadings and documents to counsel, courts and clients as needed, such as routine correspondence, deposition notices, briefs, motions, orders, petitions, and discovery.
  • File and coordinate service of documents.
  • Manage scheduling order deadlines for multiple cases filed in various jurisdictions, both state and federal and ensure calendar is accurately maintained.
  • Draft, update and maintain spreadsheets to track status of cases.
  • Assist in document review, organization, and production.
  • Assist with depositions, exhibit preparation and reviewing deposition transcripts. General case maintenance (organization of files such as correspondence, pleadings, discovery, etc.).
  • Review court dockets and electronic filing notifications.
