MCPHS is Hiring a Director of Enterprise Applications and Development Near Boston, MA

The Director of Enterprise Application Development leads a team that provides strategic planning, custom development, analytical, and systems support for a wide-variety of projects aimed at optimizing the utilization of the University’s information systems, business intelligence, and data.
  • Prioritize customer success and manage technical resources to meet objectives and deadlines within the Agile framework.
  • Contribute to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal setting, continuous process improvement, and mentorship.
  • Manage, coordinate, and deploy teams’ skillsets to ensure accurate and timely delivery of requirements while driving quality.
  • Lead team(s) of internal and external 3rd party resources performing design and development activities for University business.
  • Responsible for the development of application suites supporting the University, understanding their capabilities, limitations, and strategies.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to develop annual budgets for enterprise application initiatives, including software licensing, development projects, and ongoing maintenance costs.
  • Partner with users to understand their business needs for information and opportunities for use of technology to improve their processes and help them meet their departmental, school and/or University objectives.
  • Understand the best-of-breed solutions and tools available in the market, develop proposals and recommendations to bring the relevant ones to the organization, and periodically report the return on such investments.
  • Monitor and develop strategies for data management and integration throughout the transactional input systems and the analytical processes needed to support each business segment.
  • Work closely with the IS Operations Team to develop procedures, standards and processes for the monitoring and support of the University’s system infrastructure.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure that a product or system meets the design specification, security, and other requirements.
  • Coordinate with IS to develop and utilize methodology standards in a coherent, consistent, accountable, and repeatable manner. Identify templates, tasks, and forms for a development lifecycle.
  • Support effective change management through coordination of upgrades and patches across business applications including communication, user training and acceptance testing.
  • Contributes to sustaining and enhancing an inclusive working and learning environment.
Required:
  • Four-year university degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and work experience required
  • Minimum 8 years' work experience integrating complex systems
  • Five years of managerial experience
  • Strong knowledge of the latest Microsoft technologies including: ASP.Net, MVC, C#, MS-SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX
  • Requires a technical visionary and business leader who is able to manage business area while building workflow processes and controls
  • Must be current on emerging technology developments and competitive offerings to proactively promote new business solutions
  • Must be able to scope, define, manage, and lead the implementation of projects from inception to production launch and post-launch assessment based on business requirements defined by the stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, educational, and/or financial regulatory requirements as well as data compliance standards, such as HIPAA, HITECH, FERPA, PCI, and GDPR, and their implications for enterprise application management a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, influence and relationship management skills that enable collaborative working relationships to be developed with other departments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity on concurrent timelines within deadlines and constraints
  • Demonstrated focus on customer service and building positive relationships with leadership team, end users, and peers in high-pressure and complex environments
  • Ability to translate business and technical concepts into function specification documents
  • Highly motivated, organized, able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
