POSITION: Senior Safety Manager
LOCATION: Will travel to various job sites, covering all of Arizona.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Safety Director, the Senior Safety Manager is responsible for working with management and employees to ensure a safe and healthful work environment, while guiding the Safety Engineers.
DUTIES: Provide training to front line supervisors to prevent workplace accidents and injuries. Oversee that policies and procedures are followed and assist with conflict resolution for fleet safety, vehicle, accident, and injury investigations. Accountable for safety data reporting for accidents and injuries. Responsible for safety orieinations, development, and delivery of all safety and job-site affirmative action training. Responsible for a monthly safety toolbox training and safety scorecard. Function as company expert on all safety related issues including workers compensation claims management, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations. Understand and ensure OSHA, Department of Transportation (DOT), Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) standards and company safety policies are followed. Responsible for all plant, job, and equipment inspections. Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts. Oversee compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline. Minimum five years experience in the safety field. Safety training experience highly preferred. Must have OSHA 30 certification, and extensive knowledge of OSHA and MSHA and attention and commitment to safety. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others. Must be willing to travel. Maintain an insurable driving record.
