Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary: The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in heavy civil construction and equipment shop settings. They will work independently or as part of a team to ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and electrical panels 
• Perform regular maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and provide solutions
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
• Keep up-to-date with industry codes and standards and ensure compliance in all work 
• Communicate with customers to understand their electrical needs and provide recommendations 
• Train and mentor apprentices or less experienced electricians, as needed 
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols and procedures 

Qualifications: 

• Completion of an apprenticeship program and Journeyman Electrician certification 
• 3 years of experience in construction electrical installation and repair 
• Knowledge of electrical systems and codes and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints 
• Familiarity with a variety of electrical tools and equipment 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
• Excellent communication and customer service skills 
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team 
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, if required 
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
