Database and EDI Integration Specialist
As a Database and EDI Integration Specialist at National Food Group, you will play a pivotal role in documenting, maintaining, and enhancing our cloud-based systems. This role requires a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering top-notch technical support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Database Management
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including data imports, exports, and backups.
- Assist with questions relating to business automation and reporting.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance optimizations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure database schemas align with application requirements.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency within cloud-based systems.
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
- Manage EDI processes, including data mapping, translation, and transmission. Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase.
- Work closely with National Food Groups Database Architect, trading partners, and vendors to establish and maintain EDI connections.
- Troubleshoot EDI transmission errors and discrepancies.
- Implement EDI best practices and standards to ensure seamless communication with external entities.
- Work with business analyst to properly document EDI process and field mappings.
- Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, EDI processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Document database schema changes and version updates.
- Train team members on database-related processes and best practices.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Formal Education & Certification
- University degree in the field of computer science or information systems or 2-4 years related work experience.
- Ability to read and understand code scripts (SQL/HTML, JavaScript/Python) but not necessarily write code.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of database security and compliance standards.
- Knowledge & Experience
- Administration experience with large-scale systems - Oracle NetSuite is preferred.
- Experience in data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, Oracle Enterprise Data Warehouse, etc)
- Experience in supporting EDI platforms.
- Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training delivery and end-user procedures.
- Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.

- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
- Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering discipline or business discipline with applied information technology training.
