Job Description

National Food Group is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist who will primarily be responsible for ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients. If you are detail-oriented, passionate about money, a math wizard, and willing to have fun, we have the position for you.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the rule follower that you are! You will create invoices according to company practices and submit invoices to customers.
  • Make data your friend. You will prepare posts, verify and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
  • Be the organizer of your domain! Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
  • This is where your spreadsheet skills come in handy! Create reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
  • Research, collaborate, and reconcile. You will research customer discrepancies and collaborate with the collections specialist to reconcile accounts receivable.
  • Assist in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
  • Live and breathe details! Create thorough journal entries related to posting payments.
  • Copy, file, and retrieve materials for accounts receivable as needed.
  • Use your voice to relay changes of information to appropriate employees.
  • Month-end close
    • Reconcile and analyze accounts.
    • Data entry for accounts receivable activities.
    • Because you are deadline driven, you will ensure financial reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Assist with year-end closing for audit preparation.
  • Verifying the accuracy of accounting records. Did we mention the need to be detail-oriented?
  • Do you have other skills that go beyond numbers and money? Don’t worry, we’ll put all your hidden abilities and talents to good use. Perform other related duties as necessary.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in accounting preferred.
  • Ready to take the experience and knowledge you’ve gained and turn it into something more? We are seeking someone with two to three years of work experience in accounting and billing.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculators, and copiers. Kicking the printer when it doesn’t cooperate may be fun but doesn’t count as an ability.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
