Ability to work in a variety of orthopaedical settings and subspecialties. Potential for growth into a potential full-time position as the department expands. Possibility to be involved in various APP committees and councils across the health system.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

• The Surgical PA will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• The Surgical PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first-line provider to patients and their families.
• Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.
• Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. First or second assist in surgical cases. 

APP will assist with cross coverage in clinics for APP vacations and leave of absences. Potential for first assist in the operative room prn.
