GENERAL SUMMARY:
In this role as a Photographer within the Creative Services Department at Henry Ford Health, you'll visually tell the stories that define the human experience in healthcare. Whether it's a groundbreaking medical procedure, a heartwarming patient story, or the day-to-day excellence of our clinical and non-clinical team members, your images will bring these narratives to life in both internal and external communications, social media channels,
and marketing efforts. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend creativity with a purpose-driven environment, making a tangible difference in how healthcare stories are told and perceived.
Key Responsibilities:
• Primary focus on various photography disciplines, including portraiture, PR, marketing, event, commercial, and medical imagery, possessing both in-studio and on location lighting knowledge.
• Document Henry Ford Health-sponsored events, public affairs and media assignments, marketing initiatives, development activities, employee engagement,
medical conferences, community involvement, and many other types of assignments. Some evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Perform editing and digital manipulation of photographic images, utilizing advanced software tools.
• Be a team player in every way and demonstrate collaboration as a priority.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, particularly when working with individuals who are not professional models, ensuring their comfort and cooperation during shoots. Customer service is of the utmost importance.
• Manage and organize digital assets, including uploading photos and videos to the Henry Ford Health digital asset management system for easy access and retrieval, with minimal keywording and metadata application.
• Maintain detailed records of project expenses to ensure accurate billing and budget management.
• Conduct some specialized medical photography in clinical settings, including hospital and operating rooms, to capture critical medical procedures and evidence.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years professional photography experience, preferably in a corporate, commercial, or marketing environment.
• Proficiency in digital photo editing and post-production using Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
• Proficiency in studio lighting, on and off camera flash, on-location lighting
• Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative approach to working in a diverse creative team.
• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines, and multitask when needed,
• Ability to follow guidelines and procedures, to ensure consistency and quality in the final product.
• Be open to new learning experiences and sharing knowledge with others.
• Experience with video production is a plus, but not mandatory. Candidates with some background in video capture and editing will be favorably considered
