Summary of position:

The Straightener (Press Operator) straightens product during the manufacturing process. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. It is not designed to contain a comprehensive or all-inclusive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities. Other duties may be required.

Main responsibilities:

• Select machine tooling to be used, utilizing knowledge of machine and production requirements.
• Set and adjust machine controls according to product specifications utilizing knowledge of machine operation.
• Measure work pieces using precision measuring devices.
• Lift and position work pieces and secure them on machine tables.
• Activate machine start up switches to perform appropriate production work according to specification.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Ability to work with tools
• General machine knowledge
• Basic ability to read drawings
• Basic knowledge of measuring equipment (micrometers)
• Worked as a straightener or Press operator (asset).
