As an Account Manager you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with our distributors. In addition to supporting sales in terms of account management, order entry and outside sales representative support, you will be responsible for training outside sales force on legacy products while educating and pushing new products. This position will require trade show attendance, training of new sales staff through conferences and webinars and increasing brand awareness through active social media presence.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Develops relationships with and supports sales reps and other contacts at our top resellers.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with assigned large accounts, HD Supply, Louisville Fire and Safety etc.
  • Create new business opportunities at the distributor level
  • Performs customer service and sales team product support via in- and outbound telephone calls, email, faxes, etc.
  • Maintain daily STFS backlog to ensure that all scheduled shipments have shipped and move orders according to production schedule. This includes making sure the daily ship list is set in accordance with product in inventory and time critical so that shipping can properly coordinate.
  • Supports outside sales representative in setting up new distributors, working through client agreements, managing expectations and promoting STFS products.
  • Resolves client issues, researches problems, and makes recommendations for product upgrades or enhancements.
  • May approve price matching to assist client in closing the sale against competitors.
  • Maintains social media presence to increase brand and product recognition.
  • Represents StoveTop FireStop and promotes our products and interests at trade shows and conferences.
  • Accurately enter customer contact information, comments, etc., in our ERP database. Actively uses ERP application to coordinate customer contacts.
  • Inputs sales orders and adjusts as required by delivery and production changes.
  • Manage customer expectations when production challenges arise
  • Support and participate in other departmental objectives and responsibilities including supporting code efforts, insurance company policy implementation, apartment management company expansion, new market growth, etc.
  • Develop and nurture potential advocates in the fire services.
  • Assists in the launching and promotion of new products, when applicable.
  • Assists in other areas such as finding promotion & media exposure opportunities, etc.
  • Reports activity and performance metrics on a weekly basis.

Education & Training:

Degree in Marketing, Business or related field preferred

Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ customer service and account management experience
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet research tools (Google, etc.)
  • Prior experience with training via webinars and/or in person
  • Prior attendance at trade shows, giving product demonstrations, and hosting training sessions preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems for order entry, reporting, scheduling.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills along with well-developed presentation skills and the ability to listen effectively required.
  • Experience utilizing social media forums to market product
  • Ability to quickly grasp, understand and discern advantages of WPI products and technologies; comfortable dealing with technical product concepts
  • Must have excellent customer relations skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor and appearance
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
  • Experience with multifamily industry preferred.

  • Travel up to 50%; daytrips, overnights, and occasionally on weekends.
  • Warm, engaging personality that comes through over the phone, in writing, and in person.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative by implementing department standards for superior customer service
  • Must be self-motivated and a multitasker.
  • Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Operate standard office equipment such as copier, fax, computer and printer
