Role Summary
We seek an experienced teacher with a successful track record to teach High School IB Chemistry / Integrated Science teacher. Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the High School Principal.
Position Purpose:
  • Seeking experienced High School IB Chemistry / Integrated Science teacher with a background in High School teaching.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • This teacher will be a part of a collaborative department with an internationally focused curriculum.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Primary responsibilities include: teaching IB Chemistry / Integrated Science using creative and differentiated instructional methodologies, collaborating with High School teachers to plan student-centered curriculum that challenges students socially and intellectually.
  • Secondary responsibilities may include supervision of Extended Essays, writing letters of recommendation, or teaching of Theory of Knowledge and/or other courses related to the candidate’s expertise/profile.
  • Other duties as assigned and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (e.g. advisory, supervision duties, office hours)

  • Strong communication skills, oral and written, and ability to adapt messages to specific audiences, requiring different levels of detail

Requirements:
  • Experience with both IB Chemistry and NGSS desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in a K-12 educational environment is essential
  • Experience with best practices in assessment and reporting best practices preferred (e.g. Standard-Based Grading and Reporting)
  • IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) experience is essential
Salary Range: $66,093 to $109,243 (prorated for part-time, temporary positions)
