Job Title: Nutrition and Wellness Coordinator
Job Type: Full-time, 12-month contract
Reports to: Operations Director

Location: On campus (Not eligible for remote work)
Starting Salary: $36,270.47 - $49,487.13

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Valid State of Arizona “IVP” Fingerprint Clearance Card (or acquired prior to employment)
CPR and First Aid certifications.
Superior knowledge of education laws and regulations

Preference will be given to individuals who have experience working in the target community or in a demographically-similar community and prior experience in a similar role

General Description:
The Student Nutrition and Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the food service program and wellness program, including nutrition and serving as the School’s Health Aide.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Nutrition Services 30%
Oversee all aspects of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program including inspections, vendor management, kitchen cleanliness, supply orders, meal coordination
Provide applications for meal benefits to each household and approve and/or deny applications for meal benefits under the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. (NOT applicable during Provision 2)
Take meal counts at point of service, conduct a monthly edit of meal counts, and submit claims for reimbursement
Assist in the monitoring and review of meal program procedures in order to maintain compliance with the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program guidelines.
Put into operation accommodations for children with special dietary needs.
Maintain food service equipment, nutrition technology and information systems
Maintain necessary files and records.
Plan meal service for special school sponsored activities for students
Coordinate the marketing of the child nutrition programs through a variety of media
Student Wellness 60%
Provide basic first aid, administer medications, monitor illness and injury and notify parents of concerns. Contact 911 in emergency situations.
Lead Chronic Health Illness process & communicate to appropriate staff
Record daily health office visits in the school’s computerized student information system.
Maintain student health files
Complete and process all accident and head injury reports
Communicate with families, and staff regarding student health related concerns.
Attend yearly training/reviews including diabetes review, medication administration, Diastat/seizure, Narcan and Epi-pen training.
Maintain immunization records per state requirements, send out referrals and exclusion letters as needed, monitor immunizations in process
Organize and complete vision and hearing screenings on students as required by the State
Enter all screening results into school’s information system, send out referrals
Assist counselors with 504 plans (medical accommodations)
Cleaning the health office, maintaining equipment and ordering supplies
Community Wellness (10%)
Organize quarterly school-wide health initiatives/events to engage families
Gather health-field volunteer opportunities for students
Compile medical resources for families
Develop and maintain health community partnerships:
Attend Football and soccer games as athletic trainer (can be in lieu of 2 events in contract, additional PTO, or compensation)
