Summit Helicopters, Inc. is Hiring an Aircraft Sheet Metal/Structural Technician Near Salem, VA

In addition to operating our own fleet of both rotor and fixed wing aircraft, we are also an FAA certified repair station.

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Perform sheet metal repairs and modifications on rotorcraft structures IAW blueprints, drawings, and technical publications.
  • Cutting, shaping, and forming sheet metal parts using hand and power tools, such as snips, shears, drills or other approved methods.
  • Assembling and installing sheet metal parts, such as skins, frames, and panels, on aircraft structures.
  • Able to accomplish basic sheet metal functions such as drilling, riveting, installing hi-locks, cherry max fasteners.
  • Repairing or replacing damaged sheet metal parts using hand and power tools.
  • A&P license and verifiable experience with rotorcraft a plus but not required.

Required skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to exercise good judgement in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety.
  • Must be able to read and understand Company and Manufacturer Manuals.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and move items of 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Must be a US citizen with a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have a high school diploma, or GED.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and FAA regulated drug/alcohol tests prior to start. Will be enrolled in our random drug pool.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
