Lutheran Village at Millers Grant has an exciting opportunity available for a full time Dining Room Manager! The hours for this position at 11:30anoon-7:30pm and the shifts do include some weekends.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages dining rooms and dining room supervisor to ensure all meals are served in accordance with food safety standards while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
• Ensures standards are adhered to regarding staff uniforms, presentation, and behaviors.
• Schedule appropriate servers and DSA’s for various positions.
• Responsible for hiring of server and DSA staff.
• Meet with clients to plan the menus, set-up and breakdown, scheduling of event timeline and staff for all catering functions.
• Support executive chef on menu creations for catering and resident events.
• Conducts weekly catering meetings with the interdisciplinary team to communicate event needs.
• Supports the training of servers of proper serving techniques using 5-star guidelines.

• Conducts team member performance evaluations and performance management for direct reports including team member counseling and progressive discipline.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of sanitation, safety and food handling techniques, rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of plate presentation and awareness of visual stands relative to preparation and service of food.
• Basic computer skills- Word, Excel, Email
• 2 or more years of managerial level experiencein fine dining, hotels and senior living.
• Must be servesafe certified.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
