New employees accepting this recruitment bonusmust commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS.� You must bea new employee to the state to be eligible for this incentive.�Referral bonuses of $1,000 areavailable to current DHSS employees who refer new hires to the state in thefollowing classifications: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, NursingSupervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, andCertified Nursing Assistant.�Referral bonuses of $1,000 will be paid inquarterly installments over the first year of hire of the referred applicant.�NOTE: This program isadministered by the Department of Health and Social Services. �The programmay be terminated by the State at any time.

Summary Statement

The LPN, a Licensed Practical Nurse is sometime referred to as a vocational nurse. LPNs are health care providers who are tasked with providing direct care to their patients. They are responsible in providing to the daily basic needs of patients including administering medication and treatments and maintain close communication with their supervisors, the RNs. If patients have minor wounds, LPNs perform wound cleaning and dressing changes. LPNs are required to check patient’s hydration and food intake. They assist patients with hygiene and ADL’s.

Job Requirement Series

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Practical Nurse IApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Possession of a Delaware practical Nurse license, Delaware temporary license or multi-state compact license. JOB REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Practical Nurse IIApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Possession of a Delaware Practical Nursing license or multi-state compact license. At least six months experience as a Practical Nurse. JOB REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Practical Nurse III Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Possession of a Delaware Practical Nursing license or multi-state compact license. At least eighteen months experience as a Practical Nurse.
