Primary Purpose

This position is responsible for supporting Strategic Communications by designing print and digital projects, creating web graphics, updating web content, building webpages, and assisting with web forms under the direction of the Web/Digital Strategies Manager.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential Job Functions

1. Design print and digital projects including but not limited to flyers, programs, brochures, postcards, vector graphics, logos, etc.

2. Complete website maintenance and updates including content, images, documents, etc.

3. Perform Quality Control, SEO and ADA Compliance updates.

4. Create web graphics using Adobe Suite.

5. Create landing pages and forms for digital marketing and college workflow.

6. Assist with editing digital images.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Experience with designing and creating digital graphics for the print and web using Adobe Suite.

2. Must be proficient in HTML and CSS. Experience with Adobe Dreamweaver is a plus.

3. Experience with Mac and PC operating systems.

4. Knowledge of search engine optimization practices and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for accessible design is a plus.

5. Must be able to work independently and efficiently, under deadlines, and occasional nights and weekends for college related events.

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

7. Commitment to SJR State’s mission.

Qualification Standards

1. Education – bachelor’s degree in web/graphic design or related field is required.

2. Experience - A minimum of one year experience designing and printing digital graphics using Adobe Suite and website maintenance.

Other Ergonomic Requirements

This position is not necessarily a physically demanding job. The functions are usually performed sitting but may involve some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting (up to 25 pounds), walking, carrying, and other movements may also be required. Tasks such as working at a computer keyboard and taking photographs may require extensive wrist and hand movements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,674.00 - $47,268.00 per year
