Responsibilities

  • Providing direct support to end-users ranging from Tier 1 - 2 type issues.
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft O365 applications and other productivity applications such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Mitigation and handling of system viruses, malware, spyware & Adware and escalation when appropriate.
  • Troubleshooting and replacement of hardware component and systems.
  • System imaging software experience and ability to learn new in-house method.
  • Processing new hires, employee changes and separations including equipment setup and updates.
  • Good understanding of Windows Desktop OS support tasks (7 – Win 10) and ability to setup brand new systems.
  • Knowledge of simple AD account management and network connectivity requirements.
  • Able to trace phone and network patch cables to wall jacks with the aid of network testing devices.
  • Command of IT ticketing system use and effective workload management.
  • Proactively monitors and identifies trends and behaviors in systems support and address the findings or escalate to other IT team resources.
  • Support of audio/visual systems (TVs & projectors), and video teleconference systems (VTC).
  • Able to follow other specific troubleshooting steps and continuously update and create additional knowledge articles.
  • Contributing to timely and accurate communications with other parts of the organization regarding IT projects, timelines, and compliance.
  • Act as the escalated line of support for complex IT deskside support issues from helpdesk staff, employees and team members.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to effectively represent Information Systems in various internal and external meetings.
  • Ensuring that all policies and procedures are met to ensure regulatory compliance and updating or creating procedures to address potential gaps.
  • Works closely with individual employees to understand challenges or needs and guide the individuals to internal applications or resources that may address the employee’s challenges.
  • Ability to manage several high-priority, fast-paced activities within required timelines.
  • Ability to create quality work in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, but seek appropriate involvement from other team members or senior management regarding complex issues beyond position scope.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors with a minimum of 2 year of experience managing and maintaining a Windows desktop environment and providing direct helpdesk support or HS Diploma and a minimum of 3 years of experience managing and maintaining a Windows desktop environment and providing direct helpdesk support Knowledge

Required

  • Ability to travel between two sites: Gaithersburg & Frederick.
