JOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION TITLE: General Business TeacherSCHOOL: Mascenic Regional High SchoolQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline with appropriate educator licenseor ability to obtain licenseREPORTS TO: Building PrincipalHOURS: Full-timePERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Create and maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students Build positive relationships with students to enhance instruction and contribute to theoverall climate and culture of the school building. Plan and execute comprehensive and engaging, General Business courses based on statestandards, common and pathway competencies and district curriculum maps Use updated pedagogical practices and techniques to engage learners in General Businesscurriculum Select up to date and relevant resources that enhance learner understanding and helpmake content material relevant to students Utilize current grading practices to accurately communicate mastery to students andparents Ensure modifications and accommodations are in place for students to access GeneralBusiness curriculum Monitor and evaluate student performance on assessments, adjusting instruction toaccommodate student learning and provide necessary re-teaching opportunities Uphold and enforce school procedures, rules, and operations to ensure student safety Collaborate with colleagues to plan, share, and integrate instructional goals, objectivesand methods within the department and across the larger school community Communicate with parents in a professional manner to provide support/resources forstudent success Participate in professional growth activities and complete a professional developmentplan that includes professional conferences and workshops related to best practices in thefield of science educationEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Masters Degree in content area preferred Experience working with students of middle/high school age preferred
