Description

SUMMARY:

MCAD is seeking a Marketing Project Coordinator. This position is responsible for acting as a vital partner in the execution of complex marketing and design projects. This position provides planning, scheduling, and execution support for all MCAD marketing, design, and communications projects. The Marketing Project Coordinator must be sensitive to college needs, employee and student goodwill, and overall brand equity of MCAD as an employer and educational institution.

DETAILS: This is a full time, non-exempt position expected to work 35 hours a week. This position reports to the Creative Director and is paid $21.97 hourly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Input and track production timelines and action steps for marketing, design, and communications deliverables.
  • Work to complete assigned projects on time, to specifications and with accuracy and efficiency, with institutional stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Communications and Marketing Strategy, department directors, designers, and part-time student staff to create detailed schedules, record assignments, and set deadlines for various stages of projects using a digital management tool. 
  • Help manage workflow effectively with clear, proactive communication to project stakeholders about upcoming deadlines and/or changes to deadlines.
  • Consolidate and manage high-level marketing calendar and inform teams of any substantial changes.
  • Provide recommendations for mitigation of delays and risks to project completion. 
  • Traffic proofs for each approval stage with internal partners.
  • Assist with media placement, asset delivery, and processing invoices.
  • Assist with proofing copy and reviewing routes for accuracy.
  • Develop time management across departmental calendars, including scheduling and leading partner meetings. 
  • Help foster a creative, healthy, and responsive work environment. Cultivate positive relationships with co-workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Represents MCAD’s vision, purpose, and values in day to day work and interactions with MCAD students, staff, faculty, and campus guests, as well as the greater community.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • College degree in related field
  • 1 years experience in project management or marketing assistance in a creative environment.
  • Project management software system experience required. 
  • Print and digital production experience preferred. 
  • Fluency in Word and Google Suite required; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred. 
  • Proven record of being detail oriented and deadline driven.
  • Demonstrated experience in successful collaboration, innovation, organization, prioritization, and creative problem solving.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and written skills; ability to communicate clearly, effectively and responsibly. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office environment. This position requires the ability and willingness to closely partner with team members and colleagues in other departments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. BACKGROUND: Founded in 1886, Minneapolis College of Art and Design is located in the rich creative community of the Twin Cities. Recognized nationally and internationally for its innovative approaches to art and design education, MCAD is home to approximately 800 students from 45 states and 15 countries. The college offers bachelor’s degrees in fourteen disciplines including arts entrepreneurship, design, fine arts, and media arts; one MFA; three online master’s degrees; and continuing education classes for all ages. Through the core curriculum, students focus on their careers and craft by learning technical and professional skills while developing their creative leadership capabilities.
