Mathews Archery Inc is Hiring a CNC Operator-3rd Shift Near Sparta, WI

Position Summary:

Operates CNC machines to produce quality parts for the Company according to established Company procedure. Maintains clean work area. 3rd shift 10pm-6am Sunday through Thursday. Please indicate shift interest when applying.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operates CNC machine center by milling blocks of aluminum. 

2. Correctly loads and unloads machines.

3. Properly uses scanner to document jobs capturing accurate data with minimal scanning errors.

4. Performs quality checks of finished, milled product, using calipers to ensure proper dimensional requirements.

5. Maintains production levels required for this position.

6. Buffs and de-burrs parts and plates.

7. Documents scrap produced according to department standards.

8. Dumps chip bins as needed.

9 .Maintains a clean work area, including cleaning machines inside and out.

10. May use scrubber to clean Machine Shop floors.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists in other departments as needed.

2. Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Work Relationships and Scope: 

Reports directly to Manager, Machine Shop or Supervisor, Machine Shop. Regular contact with employees in the department for the purpose of obtaining and receiving information and assisting in changeovers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Individual must possess: ability to adapt to change in priorities on a daily basis; good mechanical abilities and manual dexterity; good verbal communication skills; ability to follow verbal and written directions; professional demeanor and appearance; problem-solving skills; ability to manage time effectively; self-motivation skills; ability to build positive work relationships with coworkers and customers with an emphasis on team work; ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people. Must be able to perform arithmetic calculations (fractions, decimals, percentages).

Equipment Operated: 

Operates CNC Machines. May operate a forklift on a weekly basis. Utilizes air and hand ratchets, files, functional gauges, de-burring knives, CNC machines, hand mills, band saws, and manual lathes.

Working Conditions: 

Work is performed in a production environment with routine exposure to dirt, noise, chemicals, and solvents. Regular exposure to repetitive motions and tasks. Regular contact with employees. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average at least 40 hours a week, with some expectation of overtime. Work is primarily performed while standing. Must be able to lift and move up to 30 pounds of product and equipment. There is regular use of the keyboard and small hand tools. Requires the ability to tightly grasp small parts and to perform repetitive motions. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication. Requires near-, mid-, and far-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
